Duncraig Project: Ensuite Bathroom

Our Duncraig Project will always hold a special place in my heart. Perhaps, it’s because of what we were able to achieve for our clients in terms of budget and project management whilst they were travelling through Europe or perhaps its simply because its transformation was nothing short of incredible.

As we mentioned last week, the family bathroom in this 1970s home was tired and in desperate need of a makeover. The ensuite was no exception.

I chose to make the family bathroom light and bright as a way to visually open up the space. In the ensuite I opted for a moodier look and whilst we kept all material selections the same in both spaces, the decision to continue the floor tile up a wall and the newly built nib wall creates a sense of drama.  The whole space feels like a spa. The colour scheme is completely the same, mid grey, white and black accents, yet the mood and feel is completely different.

The transformation is remarkable. What was once a dark and very dated space is now a fuss free sanctuary that will serve Rod and Hazel for many years to come. It was a pleasure working with Richard, from Burlinson Construction and the team at Modern Trend Tiling to complete this project.
